Stage 2: Foum Zguid - M'hamid
DAY 3 - STAGE 2 : Friday 16 October 2026 :
"This stage will be 100% desert in sumptuous surroundings, on rolling tracks in the morning, then off-road in the Erg Chegaga, where you will discover the true immensity of the desert - you will need to concentrate on navigation."
You will get down to business on the old Dakar tracks, where navigation will start to become essential! You will leave the hotel for a short transfer and a first ZR on a fast, rolling track that runs along the border with Algeria.
The rest of the morning will allow you to discover the immensity of Lake Iriki, where mirages sometimes make you believe that there is still water. You will pass in front of the well-known Titanic Restaurant before continuing on a sandy track and two ZRs that will take you to the foot of the Erg Chegaga dunes.

Lunch will be served at the Bivouac located at the foot of the dunes.

Erg Chegaga (or Chigaga) is 40 km long and 15 km wide. Some dunes are nearly 300 m high. It is the largest and wildest desert in Morocco. It is located in the Souss-Massa-Drâa region.
