Training course in the Paris region: Change of venue from 2025 onwards
The course will take place at the superb Best Western Amarays hotel and Spa in Rambouillet, around 50 km south of Paris.

The course

A very useful course, open to everyone, whatever rally you want to take part in - the Princesses Rally, the Tour Auto or any other regularity rally - the principle being the same for everyone. Our aim is to help you understand the regularity system, which combines a speedometer, stopwatch and road-book, so that you won't be surprised on the first day of the rally. On the menu: learning how to navigate, how to read a road-book, how to read the regulations and how a regularity event works, then putting it into practice and analysing the mistakes made and the difficulties encountered.

COURSE PROGRAMME

09:00: Welcome and coffee - As soon as you arrive, show us your vehicle so that we can install the GSP Tripy to establish the rankings.

What to bring

The car: your rally car if it's ready or your modern car if it's not.

Casual, sporty clothing

A stopwatch (essential)

A notebook to take notes

Writing utensils - 2/3 Stabilos in different colours

And your good humour

As far as the stopwatch is concerned, we advise you to choose one that is easy to access, easy to read and, if possible, one that can be attached to the dashboard, leaving the co-driver's hands free to read his road-book, hold his pencils, etc. and thus avoid any errors in handling the stopwatch. The tried-and-tested BIG-DIGIT (see photo) has two dials, one allowing you to let the time elapse from the start of your regularity zone and the other allowing you to reset to zero each time you change a square in the road-book.

You can find it for between €34 and €40 in all good car accessory shops, usually in the ‘Interior’ accessories section.

Follow-up and general organisation of the day

Welcome coffee, coffee break and lunch on the monday

Theoretical classroom training in the morning and practical training in the afternoon

The necessary documents: a course booklet, a control booklet, a road-book of the route with its map (60 kms including a liaison, a start for 2 regularity sectors, therefore 2 successive finishes and a final liaison).

The Tripy GPS, enabling you to be tracked and ranked in real time, and how to use it.

An example of calculation tables

This course will be run by Patrick and Viviane Zaniroli, assisted by a team of marshals.

Which car should I use for the course?

For the afternoon's practical exercise, a few trainees bring out their old cars to test them, but most come with their everyday cars - which isn't a problem, since the aim is above all to learn and understand the regularity technique and put it into practice.
